Neuropsychological assessment of brain functioning following head injury, post concussive states, neurological disease (e.g. Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, HIV), Dementia (e.g., Alzheimer's Disease, Vascular Dementia, Fronto-Temporal Dementia), Stroke, drug , alcohol & solvent abuse, poisoning and other cerebral assaults/injuries. Assessment of: malingering, mental capacity, fitness to plead, fitness to work, criminal responsibility, educational assessments and special needs. (NB : I am also able to carry out neuropsychological assessments in Punjabi). Psychiatric/Psychological Injury (eg, PTSD, Adjustment Disorders, Depression and Anxiety and other psychiatric diagnoses) Assessment and diagnoses of psychological/psychiatric injury resulting from various traumatic events including: RTA , assault, sexual assault, domestic violence, industrial accident, war, torture, bullying and harassment, occupational stress, psychological aspects of physical injury/disfigurement, medical negligence, disasters and other traumatic events. Psychometric Testing: Assessment of intelligence (I.Q.), memory testing and other cognitive functioning in the areas of Learning Disability, general adult and older adult populations. Family Work: Assessment of intellect, memory functioning and insight/capacity, from a Neuropsychological perspective, of adults and older adults. (NB : I am NOT able to comment on parenting ability or child care issues) Treatment (brain disorder and adult psychiatric disorder) :- Cognitive Rehabilitation and adjustment to chronic health conditions. Vocational rehabilitation, guidance and training following head injury, stroke, MS and other brain dysfunction. Neurorehabilitation of memory, executive and other cognitive and emotional problems following head injury and post concussive states. Psychological therapy, including CBT, for adjustment to head injury and other brain disorders for patients and their partners/carers. Psychological treatment, including cognitive behavioural therapy, in the areas of adult mental health difficulties (anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc). I have developed internationally recognised cognitive therapy treatments for trauma and have particular expertise in the treatment of PTSD and related adjustment disorders/trauma reactions. Psychological treatment, including CBT, of psychiatric disorder following health related problems.
