Both a personal web site and an entry in the UK's leading expert witness directory

We believe it is both advisable and desirable for an expert witness to have his or her own personal web site, actively promoting the address of the site wherever possible and linking it to his other web directory entries and other relevant web sites (professional, local, etc.) - ideally, also, with a matching email address. The 'expertsearch' web page address and email address go some way to achieving this objective.

We have taken this concept a stage further, to its logical conclusion, by developing the ability for the 'Online Directory' entry to be set up with the individual's own unique domain name, and with a matching email address.

Domain name registration

It is not expensive to purchase and use a unique domain name and we believe this constitutes a more professional-looking arrangement than the use of a commercial web page and/or email address (e.g. Hotmail, Freeserve, Demon, Tesco, etc).

Examples of such an arrangement can be viewed at the following pages (notice, from the third example, that the 'Online Directory' logo can be excluded from the page, at the subscriber's option):-

www.psychiatrist.co.uk (Dr William Monteiro, Consultant Psychiatrist)

www.maxfac-surgeon.co.uk (Mr Laurence Newman, Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon)

www.dentolegal.co.uk (Dr Roger Goulden, Forensic Dental Surgeon)

These pages illustrate some of the features of our service, including (also in the last example) the ability to link the page to up to three expert witness articles written by the individual (in this example, published via the 'expertsearch' server, although the links can also be to 'external' sites).

ExpertSearch Ltd is a member of Nominet.uk, the UK Internet domain name registrar. As such, we are able to assist the expert witness in the following ways:-

1.

advice on the choice and availability of domain names;

2.
registering the chosen name (e.g. yourname.co.uk);
3.
setting up the 'Online Directory' entry with the name (e.g. www.yourname.co.uk);

4.
setting up a matching email address (e.g. info@yourname.co.uk), with 'mail forwarding' to the individual's current ISP address - avoiding any disruption to existing arrangements;

5.
an estimated 80%+ of all web pages are discovered and accessed via the Internet search engines. However, most web directory entries are not normally returned in these lists. The 'Online Directory' entries can be individually registered with the leading search engines, ensuring a far wider audience for the page than is normally possible with an entry in a web-based directory. NB - this is not possible where a web site is 'password-protected' (e.g. the 'UK Register' site), and this is the main reason why the 'Online Directory' is - and will remain - a freely accessible site, as opposed to being a 'registered user' site. In addition, ExpertSearch have developed the ability to insert invisible HTML 'meta tags' (keywords) in the individual 'Online Directory' entries, ensuring that they are efficiently discovered and registered by the search engines, and returned high in their lists - significantly increasing the exposure and marketing potential of the entry.
