As well as a user-friendly
web address :-
www.expertsearch.co.uk/firstname.lastname
ExpertSearch provides 'Online
Directory' subscribers with a matching email address :-
firstname.lastname@expertsearch.co.uk
- send a message in this
format to any expert whose details appear in the 'Online Directory'
and, by a trick of electronic wizardry, your message will be delivered
to the individual's 'personal' (i.e. Internet Service Provider) email
address.
The three main advantages
of this arrangement are as follows:-
(1) the address is 'expert
witness-specific', and looks more professional than most ISP email
addresses;
(2) the ISP email address
can be kept private - in particular, from commercial 'direct mailing'
lists, thereby avoiding to a large extent the current deluge of unsolicited
'spam' email messages - without doubt one of the least desirable and
most offensive aspects of Internet technology. All messages sent to
an 'expertsearch' email address are subject to an 'anti-spam' filter,
with all 'junk' messages being intercepted and deleted by our mail
server;
(3) the expert is free
to change ISP whenever he/she wishes to do so, without the inconvenience
of the old email address becoming obsolete, without the need to notify
a large number of contacts of the change of email address and without
messages sent to the old address being lost - the 'expertsearch' email
address is simply re-directed to the new ISP email address.
'Email to Fax'
Internet technology continues
to develop at a frenzied pace. ExpertSearch Ltd keeps abreast of the
latest technical developments and is constantly improving the service
which we provide to our subscribers. As an example of this, in partnership
with Demon - the UK's leading business ISP - we have recently developed
a facility whereby it is possible for an email to be sent to any expert
witness whose fax number is displayed in the 'Online Directory', the
email message being delivered as a fax message - simply by using the
email address :-
fax.firstname.lastname@expertsearch.co.uk
This facility is particularly
useful for the expert witness who does not have an email account or
who chooses not to make his email address public - or where the sender
does not know the expert's current email address. In addition, the
facility also has a wider appeal due to the 'immediacy' of the fax
message and the fact that a fax message is less likely to be inadvertently
overlooked, deleted or misfiled than an email message. For this reason
many expert witnesses request correspondents to send important work-related
email messages via fax. Please try this facility out for yourself
- it works!
