Robert Butler is Managing Director and Pricipal Audio,
Video and Imaging Expert at BFS Forensic Services.

He holds a TEC Certificate in Telecommunications Engineering
and TEC Higher Certificate in Communications Engineering, and
is an Incorporated Engineer.

He has been actively involved in Audio and Video Forensic
Evidence for almost three decades - initially with the Metropolitan
Police, where he was involved in the design and development of
audiotape and videotape interview rooms, together with the video
recording suites used for child witnesses. As a member of the
Steering Committee, he contributed to the development of all aspects
of the technical and evidential processes. He was also Head of
the Metropolitan Police Forensic Video Laboratory for three years
(1994-1997) and was responsible during that time for the processing
of many thousands of video recordings.

Whilst with the Metropolitan Police, the Forensic Science Division
of Network International, and independently for the last five years,
Rob Butler has been involved in the investigation of thousands
of criminal cases, pertaining to terrorist offences, drug trafficking,
murder, abduction and sex offences. He has provided, and continues
to provide, recognised expertise, both in writing and orally at Court -
including attendance at the Central Criminal Court and the High Court.
