Extensive experience of giving oral evidence in court as an expert witness. Principle areas of clinical interest are personality disorder, mental ill health and parenting capacity, post-traumatic stress disorder and personal injury. Also has an interest in employment-related stress and has given evidence at the Birmingham Employment Tribunal. Currently employed as Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the Queen Elizabeth Psychiatric Hospital, Birmingham and Isham House, St. Andrew's Hospital, Northampton. Previously worked as Consultant Clinical Psychologist to the Therapeutic Community Service (part of the national service for the treatment of severe personality disorders). Member of the steering group of the British and Irish chapter of the European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and represents the British Psychological Society on the British Psychological Society and Royal College of Psychiatrists Liaison Group. Dr Mike Drayton is listed in the 'Directory of Expert Witnesses' which is maintained by the British Psychological Society, the representative and regulatory body for psychologists in the UK (see link, below).
