David J Powell is a former Chairman of the Boundaries and Party
Walls Panel of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He
has specialised in boundary dispute work since 1989 and has
been instructed in over 1600 cases. Preferred areas of work
include suburbia and intense neighbour disputes.

He is Vice Chairman of the RICS Geomatics (Land Surveying)
Faculty Board (2003 - 4), a member of the Land Registration
Rule Committee (Land Registration Act 2002) and past Chairman
of the RICS boundary Skills Panel. He was warded the Michael
Barratt Medal by the RICS for boundary work in 1994, is author
of 'Guide to Boundary Demarcation in England and Wales' (1993)
and co-author of 'Nuisances' (1998). He is an experienced expert
witness and has appeared in the County and High Courts on more
than 80 occasions. He has been approved by the 'Expert Witness
Registration Scheme' set up by the Royal Institution of Chartered
Surveyors in November 2002 (info). He speaks German and has
ADR skills in arbitration, mediation and expert determination.
