Career :- Partner in General Practice since 1992, latterly as a sole practitioner, following hospital training in London, Leicester and Northampton, 1983 - 1989. Undertook and completed a part-time LLM postgraduate degree in the Legal Aspects of Medical Practice as a part-time student at Cardiff University (1998-2001). Dissertation for this degree was on the past and likely future development of the standard of care in clinical negligence cases, including the effect of possible changes to the system of compensation for medical accidents. Since obtaining a law degree as an external student of the University of London in 1993 and joining his current practice in Bristol in 1995 Chris Sharples has built up a substantial medico-legal practice, acting in personal injury and clinical negligence cases.
