Career background :-

Brett Halliday trained at Oxford Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye
Hospital, London. He was appointed to a consultant NHS post
in Shrewsbury in 1990 and has been an independent consultant
ophthalmologist since 1997. He has published papers in peer
reviewed journals on the diagnosis of glaucoma, acuity after
cataract surgery, lens power in cataract surgery, surgery of
pterygium, refractive surgery including epikeratophakia and
excimer laser contrast sensitivity, surgery for blepharospasm,
corneal graft surgery, surgery for keratoconus, two editorials
in the BMJ and two chapters in text books.

Mr Halliday has over 10 years’ experience of providing medico-legal
reports. Most of these have concerned alledged medical negligence,
where a claim is being made against a doctor or a hospital. He also
writes reports in cases where an eye injury has occurred in a road
traffic accident, in the workplace, or elsewhere.

A free initial telephone advice/consultation is offered in relation to
any medico-legal case. Clients can normally be seen within two
weeks of receiving instructions, and reports are delivered within a
further two weeks. Reports are clear and comprehensive, address
all of the important points of a case in a logical way and comply fully
with the Civil Procedure Rules (sample report available on request).
