Also holds a Post-graduate Diploma in Management Studies and is a Member of the Chartered Management Institute. He is a trained and accredited Expert Witness, having significant experience of the presentation of professional testimony at Court, in both Civil and Criminal cases. After leaving school he undertook a broad factory and workshop based craft apprenticeship and technician training. He achieved an EITB Certificate of Engineering Craftsmanship (Fitter/Turner), and an NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Manufacture (Craft Competences) Mechanical (Machining). During 11 years in Heavy Vehicle Manufacturing Industry (Leyland Truck and Bus), including experience of many departments including Vehicle and Engine Assembly and Test, he undertook Post-graduate employment on Advanced Manufacturing Systems, and Design and Development work. During his ten years' experience with a long-established firm of Consulting Forensic Engineers (Strange, Strange and Gardner), he achieved the level of Salaried Partner and Office Manager. On many occasions this work involved the 'first principles' investigation of a wide variety of accidents and engineering problems, with extensive experience of for example Commercial Disputes, Personal Injury, Occupiers’ and Employers’ Liability, and Road Traffic Accident type cases. Latterly, he spent two years with a firm of Forensic Accident Investigators (GBB (UK) Ltd), predominantly investigating potentially fraudulent RTA/vehicle failure claims, when he achieved the position of Director, Shareholder and Office Manager. He established Collier Knight Watts in September 2003 with two colleagues, with the intention of providing an approachable, comprehensive and independent Forensic Engineering Consultancy. Collier Knight Watts LLP, Independent Consulting Forensic Engineers :- Andrew Knight established Collier Knight Watts in September 2003 with two colleagues, Philip Collier and Stephen Watts. Their specific intention is to provide an approachable, comprehensive and independent Forensic Engineering Consultancy and expert witness service to lawyers and insurance companies. The three partners of the firm have a combined experience of over 40 years in the field of Expert Witness Services, and have between them prepared in excess of 4000 technical reports. The partners aim to provide a quality investigative engineering service to the firm's professional clients, and undertake investigations into a wide variety of accidents and engineering disputes. The partners have all received expert witness training and are fully conversant with the role, duties and responsibilities of the Expert Witness. All reports comply with the Civil Procedure Rules. Authoritative and fully investigated reports are provided, primarily for Civil and Criminal litigation, on subjects such as construction site and demolition accidents, structural surveys, lifting and access equipment failures, product failures, road traffic accidents and potentially fraudulent claims. The Partnership also has particular expertise investigating occupational conditions such as Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome and Upper Limb Disorders and matters relating to Occupational Health and Safety. Reports are frequently prepared on personal injury caused by slips, trips and falls, accidents in the sports and leisure environment, manual handling, glass and glazing.
